Thunderbolt Solutions is seeking to contingent hire for a Cyber Engineer Lead to support a future DOD Aerostat Program.

Job Description:
As a Thunderbolt Solutions employee, your role will focus on performing a variety of systems engineering/cyber tasks and activities that are concerned with hardware/software integration, failure analysis, test and verification of electrical components of major Department of Defense systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Risk Manager Framework - Assist the Government with the RMF Process to include providing design artifacts and requirements verification test results as Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) to the Government in support of the RMF Process. All work is at direction and support of Navy Validators appointed to the package. Engineers provide support and documentation as requested for this effort.
  • Training - Provide material inputs to support the production of an Operational Security (OPSEC) Manual. This includes providing screen captures and step by step procedures for conducting system usage audits, archiving data, completing cybersecurity incident reports and maintaining all cybersecurity tools implemented in the system design. This manual will be written at the high school graduate level assuming no prior computer science education.
  • COTS SW Supply Chain Risk Mgmt - The COTS and Obsolescence Management group will conduct obsolescence and risk management on the 65 logic-bearing COTS SW This effort will include monitoring for obsolescence and supply chain risks that can result in the catastrophic (Level I) and critical (Level II) protection failures. Supply chain risk management best practices will be followed. All COTS SW obsolescence and risk management results with supply chain risk information and mitigation will be documented for each major design review and Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR).

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional technical experience in System and Subsystem Requirements analysis focusing on analyis, development, documentation and validation of Cyber Security Systems in the Aerospace/Defense and/or Commericial systems.
  • Familiarity with Aerostat Systems.
  • Exposure to requirements engineering and management of requirements using Rational Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML
  • Modeling with Rational Rhapsody a plus
  • Familiar with Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence
  • Education Req:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as demonstrated by a record of influencing internal leadership and external customers on design decisions.
  • Understanding of electronic, electrical, computer, and networking systems.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Other desired qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of systems engineering development methodologies.
  • Experience with airborne sensors and surveillance systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as demonstrated by a record of influencing internal leadership and external customers on design decisions.
  • Current U.S. DOD Secret Security Clearance.
